As one of the first employees hired at the startup Eatsa, I was brought in to drive design and concept for creation of Eatsa's in-store experience, including conception of the in-store physical and digital products. When I joined the company, we didn’t have much more than a philosophy. Over the following year I worked with a lean, scrappy, multidisciplinary team to design and build the award-winning Eatsa experience, stores and brand.
Key Contributions
Led concept and visual design of in-store products and experiences (kiosk, pick up, digital environment); created renderings/prototypes/presentations to drive team consensus and visually communicate design concepts; guided the full end-to-end customer journey; defined the in-store digital strategy; established the brand aesthetic including materials and furniture; design direction for marriage of digital and physical design; created and ran user testing and feedback programs; managed design contractors; managed build vendors
The Challenge: To make delicious and nutritious fast food that is affordable for all.
Eatsa began as an innovative restaurant that wanted to reimagine fast food by making it nutritious, accessible and affordable for everyone. Using design & technology as a foundation, we created a completely unique experience that gave customers better faster food. By serving healthy, sustainable food in an operational model that enables high throughput at a low cost, we can pass savings onto customers and make the kind of restaurant where anyone can eat at 3 days a week and feel good about it.
